it's the start of another looong day..plus i've ippt training today which is good 'cos it's a rare chance to work oit after so many days of duties..gd thing tmr's labour day but the bad thing is i've duty on fri!!!! argh...

Heya! Haha..my spirits have soared since hearing my seniors talking abt gals and gfs..one was relating how he had 4 gfs in a span of 4 years..hehe talk abt raging hormones..before that i received a call from my friend Liang Jie, who's deliberating on the ethics of bond breaking (with reference to the scholarship from A*STAR which he was just offered) as he's due for a PSC interview tmr..the dilemma is that he has to reply A*STAR within 7 days of the date inscribed on the letter..so any sane guy would, like him, accept the offer first and wait-and-see..but if he gets the PSC scholarship (and there's a gd chance), he may have to revoke the acceptance of the A*STAR scholarship and pay a hefty 1000 bucks, plus the guilt of seemingly 'breaking' a bond even though legally he has not executed the scholarship yet..sigh
such is the truth that 19 year old teens like us have to face nowadays..all for the sake of pursuing a future, a future that ironically is supposed to depend on oneself but ends up dependant on who would finance your education, the stepping stone to your supposed future..hmmm will be back later..

duh..here i am back again cooped up in my camp..well actually cooped up's kind of misleading bcso this place is really big! & this fact only emphasises the loneliness i feel..spent the morn doing some work n now's time to take a 'rest'..haha which means slacking here reading other pple's blogs..
well i'm looking forward to resuming my once-a-week swims at cck pool..i was supposed to start this week but i had my duty today...darn and i made a deal with my mum that i would resume swimming as long as there are fewer than 5 sars deaths this week! lol! but she's still not convinced, tells me anecdotes of how this neighbour and that neighbour gave up swimming for jogging...blah blah blah..guess i'll wait till the may day hols before broaching the topic again..i mean, this sars is prob going to be a permanent fixture in medicine and our lives..so say postulates in the news..so there must be a point where pple start taking calculated risks and make some effort to resume their daily lives ya? being paranoid brings nothing but anxiety and suspicion of others (even those close to you) when it can be all well and good with simple commen-sensical precautions..
duh, anyway, reflecting upon using the 'how many pple died from sars' thingy to gauge when it's safe to swim again..i failed to consider the feelings of those who'd experienced loved ones dying from sars..imagine how they would feel seeing someone trivialising the deaths of their closest kins like this? my sincere apologies to these pple..i'll watch my tongue in future. =)
it's ard 2 pm now
i would usually be giving tuition at 2:30pm. but now i'm stuck in this place. sigh. 18 hours more to go! sheesh.
think i'll steal 40 winks.

a short intro of myself..i'm 18 coming to 19 this yr, just enlisted into NS in dec'02 and a clerk doing 8-5 (yeah good life rite ^_^) cos of a shoulder injury; i was from bukit panjang pri, the chinese high, n subsequently hwachong..yup
play the erhu in the chn orchestras of my alma mater n till jun last yr learnt from prof. zym (i'll leave u to figure that out)
what do i do in my free time now? u may ask. well for one, i give tuition (ha!)
actually i'm just kinda settled into my daily routine after joining this unit in mid-feb..i'm registering for my basic theory lessons next wk..n in a couple of months i may be attached informally to one of the research institutes under A*STAR..yea to prepare myself for my future career..=)
sounds boring? for now perhaps...but i'm pretty confident i'll not waste these 2 yrs in Mindef...that remains to be seen!

haha...hope he finds his grey bk (which he said he left on the bus)
sigh..i've night duty again tmr and i haven't really recovered from the previous one..it was a bad hangover
and worse still i've to give tuition later..
